Channel output power

A total output power of 60W is available across all four channels. For each channel, power can be supplied to:

  • a Reader (12 VDC)

  • a peripheral such as a touch-free request-to-exit button (12 VDC)

  • a lock (selectable between 12 VDC or 24 VDC)

Example

If all locks use 12V, then a total output current (across all locks, readers, and peripherals) of 5.0A is available. If 24V locks are used, then the total current available reduces accordingly, such that the total power remains within the 60W limit

  • Any one lock output can supply a maximum current of 1.4A. Any one Reader or peripheral output can supply a maximum current of 700mA

  • It is not possible to supply the maximum current on all outputs at the same time, due to the total output power limit of 60W

  • Each power output has an active current limiter which prevents a fault on one external device from affecting any other part of the system. Use the Accessia Installer app to optionally configure a lower current limit for each output to minimize the risk of system disruption or damage to external devices in the event of a fault

  • All power outputs are Power-Limited Class 2 circuits

Output power on battery

  • In the event of AC mains failure, the Hub can maintain normal operation for a minimum of 30 minutes and typically 1 hour (standby power performance level II) with a total output power of 60 Watts when using the recommended backup battery (see Battery connection)

  • If the total output power is reduced to a maximum of 24 Watts, the Hub can maintain normal operation for a minimum of two hours and typically 3 hours (standby power performance level III)
